Comments about Stamina Stamina 15-4800 Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike:

It's not terrible, but half the time you lose the heart rate tracking. Also, the other day the right pedal fell off without warning, and it seems stripped somehow. So, we can't get it screwed back in properly. Not horrible. Not great.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 15-4800 Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike:

I liked the bike for being easy to use and for its overall construction quality. However, I had continued problems with the computer and its wiring, with replacements sent to me twice. This glitch would unable me to set desired programs and would cause the computer to reset (start over from 0) during my sessions.

Lacks tough resistance
By VictorVerified Purchaser from Sunnyvale, CA on 10/3/2008
Pros:

Cons:
Not enough tension

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stamina Stamina 15-4800 Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike:

I found the machine easy to set up, but it doesn't provide as good a workout as I would like. Reason being that even at the highest resistance level, tension doesn't provide enough resistance to work my muscles. I need something that gives me more resistance so I can get a workout. This machine falls short in this regard.

during the good weather I do not use it. I would rather do my exercise outside. I find this is excellent for my personal needs. I have one artificial knee and the other with arthritis. Comments about Stamina Stamina 15-4800 Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike:

I used this product everyday for about a year until the belt wore away and the ball bearings fell apart. The resistance was not consistent so I opened up the casing and discovered rubber shavings inside. The belt was wearing away. When I tried to adjust the bike to stop the belt from rubbing away it could not be adjusted. In addition to the belt, the ball bearings wore away and the bike started to make a grinding noise. Do not waste your money on this bike.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 15-4800 Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike:

My 83 year old father used the device to rehab from knee replacement surgery. In addition to being easy to set up and move, it was stable with easy access for him. It's footprint is small enough to allow it to fit in a small den.
One draw back was that it couldn't be adjusted to fit my mother, but she's less than 5' tall.
It is excellent for rehab.

By JoshVerified Purchaser from Durhan, NC on 8/19/2008
Pros:
Comfortable, Easy To Adjust, Easy To Setup, Easy To Use
Cons:
Durability

Comments about Stamina Stamina 15-4800 Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike:

The bike came with all parts and was easy to assemble. It is comfortable to use and seems to work well. However, after only two months of using it for about 30 minutes a day, the seat back has bent back somewhat making the bike somewhat less comfortable to ride. I am pretty overweight, but I am nowhere near the advertised 250 lb. limit.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 15-4800 Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike:

This bike is made for someone like me: I need exercise, but I'm really lazy. I can watch TV, read a book, or balance my checkbook while biking at a comformatble speed. There are only two things that I would want improved:
* the pulse monitor turns off after so many minutes with you hands off the bars and then will not come on again later if you want it.
*The adjustment needs to have one more adjustment hole for those of us at 5 feet or below. I have mine set at a lower point, but there is no lock (hole for the adjustment pin) for that small.
Even without having it locked, it runs quietly and smoothly!
I love this bike :)

I am a 46 year old male, 6 foot 2 inches and 225 pounds. I bought this bike to get a little exercise after a spinal fusion. It seems fine for my size, but I have only used it for 10-15 minute stints about 5 times so far.

I love this thing. If you want a great, serviceable recumbant but don't want to/can't spend a fortune, this is your bike. Most of the exercise equipment I ever bought got more use as a coat rack than anything else. With that history, I wasn't willing to spend [$] on a "decent" bike. And I didn't have to. She's going strong for two years now. And I actually USE it! So quiet - I ride while we watch tv.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 15-4800 Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike:

I would prefer a fully recumbent bike, however, I still ride nearly every day. I have had to add pillows and cushions for some back support. There is a huge gap from the bottom of the seat to the bottom of the back rest. The seat cushion and back rest both need to be larger. If I had any idea that it was so poorly designed I would never have bought this bike.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 15-4800 Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike:

The Stamina 15-4800 is an excellent choice for those looking for a sturdy, reliable, exercise bike at a bargain price. I've been using it for about 3 months now and I'm impressed by it's stability, smooth operation, and quiet performance. I particularly appreciate how easy it is to move this bike. I put my bike in front of the T.V. while exercising, and then afterward I store it out of the way. The rollers make this bike very easy to move. I'd recommend this bike to anyone who is looking for a solid, portable, bike for their daily exercise routine.

I use this bike to help recover from surgery for total knee replacement. It works as advertised, with lots of neat electronic info I don't even use. Be prepared for an awfully uncomfortable seat, though: I have to use pillows. Also, the bike is hard to get up from. Being slightly unstable yet from the surgery, I have to use my walker to haul myself up from the bike after using it.

The bike was purchased to assist in my father's rehab from knee surgery. The bike met or exceeded my expectations and measuring from the frequency of my father's use he liked it too. It was very easy for him to use and adjust resistence as he got stronger. I liked the fact that the bike has all the features one would need to properly workout and no flashy or gimmiky extras. This makes the bike a great buy.

Only draw back which would not apply to very many people was that the unit was difficult to adjust so my 4' 10" mother could use the bike, too.

It doesn't affect anything other than its annoying..hope nothing else starts to break down.

I have been having foot problems and was unable to do the normal walking/elyptical work out I was used to, and I found this bike online and it's been a great help. I make it a point to get on it everyday.
My only 2 complaints are that I have to keep shifting on the seat as I can not seem to get it positioned perfectly to keep moving at the same pace, and the function or set up buttons are hard to push.
Everything else is great.

The seat and back are inadequate. Seat needs to be deeper and the back support needs to go lower. I need to use pillows in the gap between the back of the seat and the bottom of the back for some low back support. Kinda defeats the purpose of a recumbent bike which is suppose to provide more back support. Had I known this I would never have bought this bike.

[...] I had it all put together in an hour. No special tools required, though if I did it again I'd remember to charge the cordless screwdriver and use that instead. It's very quiet, very comfortable, and easy to use. Much better for my back than a standard bike, and I used it to rehab from a broken leg last summer--both my doctor and my trainer were very impressed with how quickly I bounced back from the injury, and at least part of it was due to using this bike at a very low resistance. From time to time I do have to tighten the bolts that hold the seat back on--maybe once every six months, but otherwise it's rock solid.I've recommended this bike to several people as a very reliable, inexpensive piece of equipment. Worth every penny.
